You know, there are different kinds of prayer. Donny, you are correct to say that "canned prayer" is boring ( a paraphrase, but I get the gist ). There is a place for canned prayer though, like when posting on a board such as this. Some prayers should be commited to memory, like the Lord's Prayer and such. There is also vocal prayer, hopefully all churches practice some sort of vocal prayer, that is when mankind comes together in prayer lifting there voices to God. Then, if someone is bored with canned prayer they can make (Don't laugh, this is really the word), an ejaculation. (I told you not to laugh). An ejaculation (stop laughing) is a quick outburst of prayer, like "Jesus I love You", or, "Jesus and Mary save souls", or something like that. These are great little prayers when your prayerlife may become somewhat dry. Then there are our private meditations with God, when we are in our quiet room. It is good to be in a somewhat prayerful state all day, though that is difficult with the trappings of the world all around us.
