OK, I hesitated, but I must bring this to the owners attention.

This building is part of Corning's history.
The "Three J's" drive in has been here, at least, all my life, and then some. I'm 33 years old. I remember "the great chase" as a kid, where we sat at Three J's and watched Corning Police chase a car back and fourth for what seemed like hours. It became a joke, people would clap and cheer every time the car would pass with the Corning Police right behind it. It was only going about 30 miles per hour, but refused to pull over. This may have been a joke, possibly even staged, who knows, but it was entertainment just the same, and take note that there were 15 to 20 people sitting out in front of Three J's at the time.

I Love buildings here in town that have memories along side them. You know, like Rogers Theater.
I would hate to see this building be taken down, along with the many that are no longer with us today. But, I find it hard to believe that they, the owners of this building, are doing very well as a business.
This building is now a Chinese Restaurant called the "Flying Boat." You may not know it by looking, because the windows are all painted over, it looks more like an abandoned building. I hate to sound so sarcastic, but if you were to guess that anybody were in there, you might guess that it is a "check-in" point for people with those electronic ankle bracelets. Know what I mean?

What are they hiding in there? What do they not want us to see when they make us an egg role?
Honestly, I don't think they are hiding anything, but, It sure seems like that from the appearance of this building. I'm no business person, but I'd be willing to bet that if they were to remove the paint from those windows, put up a few flashing lights, make the place look inhabited, and put some yard furniture out front, they would be a lot better off, business wise.
What do you think?

A building with painted up windows and a small slot where they can hand the food through just doesn't look very inviting. Is there anyone in there? Seriously, the place looks abandoned.

Just my opinion, as usual!

I think the Flying Boat is owned by a group of wealthy investors who need the business to lose money in order to offset some of the great wealth they are receiving from raising earthworms in the glove compartments of their vehicles.

Ok...in fact, the first time I ate their food, I was doing volunteer work for a non-profit foundation. It was late afternoon and non of our group had eaten since breakfast. (Which I also had missed). Perhaps that's why that first meal from the Flying Boat had tasted so good to me.

A few months later, I finally convinced my spouse to eat there. This time, it was near closing time for them. The food was not nearly as good. It tasted old...like it had been in the warmer all day.

Then, a couple of months ago, we got brave enough to try it again. I had the Broccoli Beef...most everything tasted ok, but the beef...well the flavor was ok I guess...but it was all grissley and slimey. It must've been some kind of organ meat. So even though the meal tasted ok...I couldn't get past that texture, so again, the meal was not satisfactory to me.

But in fairness....I feel compelled to note for the record...and as a matter of fact; I am a very good cook, and as such, probably more critical of restaurant meals than most. There are many restaurants that my friends enjoy that I do not care for at all.

Also, I agree, there are a number of improvements that could be done in the appearance of the place as well.

Could it have possibly been some of the earthworms they are raising in their glove compartments? In any event, it sounds unappetizing!

I am an excellent cook and certainly know what you mean about restaurant food. Very often, the food others rave about leaves me unimpressed, to be kind.
