Obama is a breath of fresh air.

What do you like so much about McCain?
I don't like McCain as a Presidential candidate.

What makes Obama a, "breath of fresh air"?

Obama is a breath of fresh air.

What do you like so much about McCain?
Fresh air? More like hot air. There is nothing fresh about this guy. Have you seen Obama's ten point plan to "change" the Second Amendment"?
1) Ban use of firearms for home defense.
2) Pass federal laws eliminating the Right to Carry.
3) Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.
4) Close down 90% of gun shops in America.
5) Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
6) Increase federal taxes on guns and ammo by 500%.
7) Restore voting rights for 5,000,000 criminals including those who have been convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.
8) Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.
9) Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.
10) Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

Is that fresh enough for you? Sounds like the same old party line to me. Kill babies and stop your ability to defend yourself. Oh, but he looks cool. I figured only teenagers and morons would vote for this guy. Am I right? Do you think he wears boxers or briefs? Can he blow some sax? These are the truly important questions aren't they. Most importantly, does Europe like him. We can't have another president that the people of Europe don't like. Remember, the people of Europe saved the U.S. during the World Wars, we need them. We should let them vote for our president also. Is McCain any better? Maybe yes, maybe no, but at least he had the b@!!$ to fight. If a person has nothing to die for then he has nothing to live for. When you vote, remember your posterity.

Just an FYI: I've never owned more than a pellet gun. No particular point being made in saying this, just putting it out there.

It is time to STEP UP to more advanced weaponry, my friend!

I recommend this:

Obama is a breath of fresh air.
I wasn't expecting such sound reasoning and specificity. ;)

Your reason kind of reminds me of THIS VIDEO (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=3wPDg9y_bpM) by some Ron Paul (who's called a breath of fresh air by his supporters) supporter asking people on the street why they support Obama. One guy said the exact same thing you did. Most said..........drum roll.......Change! What kind of change? They weren't really sure. Most when pressed said, gas prices or universal health care or taxes.

What do you like so much about McCain?
That he's not Obama. Outside of that, not much. He's too liberal for me. His court nominees would be better than Obama, but that's not saying much. He's more fiscally conservative than Obama, but that's not saying much. I trust his foreign policy experience more than Obama, but that's not saying much either.

First of all, Chris, such scaremonger lists come out every election, demonizing the "competition". Unfortunately, that's part of US politics.

We have what is referred to as a system of "Checks and Balances" in this country. Drastic changes to the Constitution cannot be made on a whim. Can you list how often major changes have been made to it?
Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of about sixteen times.

Chris
08-22-2008, 03:24 PM
Exactly. Do you know how many times people have wanted to make changes?
I'm glad I got the number right. Your point on how many times is well taken. Fortunately for me, I have absolute non-negotiables when it comes to voting, or not voting. Abortion, euthenasia, fetal stem cell research, human cloning, and homosexual mariage. Thank God for Holy Mother Church! Oops, wrong board.

In my opinion...Obama is like a high school jock who is not satisfied being a jock. He wants to be class president, too! He needs to prove to himself and everyone else, that he is the most popular guy in school.

Never mind that he hasn't a clue about doing what's best for the class as a whole...

McCain isn't much better...but at least he has a backbone and some scruple's.

In all fairness, McCain is probably much better than Obama, but Obama is so bad that we're still not saying much. The fact that McCain is a bonafide war hero puts him leaps and bounds above the guy who changed his name to Barak Hussein Obama. I'd rather vote for someone who changed their name to John Wayne or something macho like that.

Obama is a breath of fresh air.

I've noticed that people who support Obama are a lot like him.

They say things that imply they have been inspired. Then when pressed to explain the inspiration, they can't or won't.

As if it were just a feeeeeling they have.

Never mind, this board is a spring board to your blog.

You make statements (your own opinions btw) here and explain them in your blog.
A proxy conversation, no thanks.

You must be having a bad day.

You've explained my frustration perfectly here. "A spring board to your blog." I hate links too. It's like shooting a salvo then ducking for cover.
